Okuma Salar was first and foremost designed for trolling for salmon from a row boat. The design of the rod takes note of the fact that it will be used in challenging conditions. The blank is sensitive, but also strong enough to fight salmon. The reel holder is top FUJI quality and the metallic line guides are made by Seaguide. The rod does not have the cross structure of traditional trolling rods, so it is easier to detach from the rod holder of the salmon trolling boat.
